Hidden Moon

Interesting full moon tonight. It's "hidden" in nearly every sense of the term. Neil hasn't written a damned thing about it, no one out there has mentioned it to me in passing and no one here in Los Angeles can see it, literally, as it remains behind the dark night clouds. But as we are all well aware, the brightest of lights are those which remain hidden and its that which we can't see that is most worth seeking.
And like most prizes of this nature, all it takes is acknowledgment of that which can't be seen to tap into it. The second I lit my Goddess candles, put on some magikal musik and invoked the spirit of the Moon, that great tide swept over me and began whispering all of the lunar wisdom meant for me to receive and share.
A hidden full moon is hidden from some of us for a reason: To remind us that it is always up to us to connect to that energy. Nothing else will do it for us. No magic. No astrologer. No money. No mother. No father. No boyfriend. No best friend. All of these things help you in connecting to the light at times, but they are useless without one thing: You. You are your only Savior and your greatest connection to the higher powers. So will you wait until the next moon? Will you wait to read from someone else what it is supposed to be about? Or will you start accepting you don't need anyone to hold your hand? When will you start being your own savior instead of your own slayer? That is a gift of this hidden full moon.
A hidden full moon, that bright light behind the dark clouds, is also symbolic of accepting balance. The darkness and the light. The light hiding within the darkness. Many of us are at points right now were we are recognizing this duality in all things. I posted a poem to my Diary yesterday (creativity, also the realm of the full moon and the Goddess) called "Sorry/Not Sorry," denoting that while I may have regrets about the way certain things have gone down, I am grateful for them because I wouldn't be where I am right now without those mistakes. Doesn't mean I don't regret them. Doesn't mean I'd do it any differently either. Duality. Balance. Tolerance. It seems the grey area (or silver, lol!) is always the holy one, isn't it?
A hidden full moon might also make us think about the idea that what's gone is never really gone. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. This may extend into specific parts of your life at the moment. Nothing really dies, it just takes new form. For instance, I've had to stop being friends with a few people lately, stop working for certain companies, etc. It doesn't mean these people are no longer in my life. Though I don't see or speak to them physically, they're inside of me now, tattooed on my soul. Our experiences, our mistakes, our lessons, our joys -- all a part of me. So just because you don't see something doesn't mean it's not there. This could also be related to trust issues. Trust that even though you don't see the moon that it is there. Trust that even though you might not see God in all things, God is there. Trust that the universe will provide all that you need even in your darkest hours. Light is always in endless supply. It is up to us to connect to it. After all, the true strength and character of one person is based in how they handle themselves in the face of adversity.
This full moon gives us an opportunity to connect to one of our greatest strengths: Our own! The one no one or thing can take away from us and through which we become riot proof. Chances are, those of you out there connecting to it tonight have felt the same thing.
